This invention relates to damping devices in
which a damping force is generated by movement
of an electrically conducting member through a
magnetic field which movement causes eddy
currents to be induced in the member which, in
turn, generate a force resisting movement of the
member dependent upon its velocity. In particular,
but not exclusively, this invention relates to eddy
current dampers for use on spacecraft.
