Microform copies of the parish registers and Bishops Transcripts are held by the Hampshire Record Office in Winchester. Some have been transcribed. The family seems to have had little connection with Hampshire until the 20th Century.

Dummer Parish Registers

Matthew Sturdivant (various spellings) lived here for a time around the 1560s, but there are no family entries in the parish registers. He later became a Swordbearer of London and a member of the Goldsmiths Company, eventually retiring to Old Buckenham, Norfolk, where he set up a charity which is still recorded on an inside wall of the church.
