There is no single central archive for London parish registers. Many of have been transcribed and published, especially by the Harleian Society. The main holdings are at the Guildhall Library and the London Metropolitan Archives (formerly the Greater London Record Office) but most, if not all, London boroughs, have their own archives, and others are held by the Surrey History Centre at Woking. I have listed all known family births, marriages and deaths, including those so far found only in the General Register Office indexes, but London was expanding so rapidly in the 19th Century that many have these have not yet been tracked down to a particular church, especially where there were several churches in the same borough. |
